The positions could be filled before the November election.

With how long the usual Supreme Court nom approval process goes, we’d get maybe one, and that’s if the GOP allowed it. Even if we got all 50 Dems on board to vote to expand the court, it’d be a precarious thing that we literally couldn’t lose one senator on, because there’s no doubt in my mind that the 50 Republicans would hold fast against any nom going forward to ensure that only they got the control of who the noms would be.
