I would still argue that a secular “weak” dictatorship (like it was under M.) is less painful than a theocratic dictatorship. Because the latter guys are f-n serious about their religious hangups.

Tyrants are always serious about staying in power. Power is a technical problem, not one of seriousness or passion.
