re: #389 darthstar

Asking for $1 is like saying “For less then the cost of a cup of coffee you can provide education and clothing to a starving child.” If you go to give a buck, you’ll probably end up giving more because who only sends $1 when they know damn well campaigns spend hundreds of millions?

If I was only going to send a dollar I’d mail a check (and pay the extra .44 cents in postage) just to see if it got cashed.

Whoever’s doing that on her behalf should stop. Ask for $25. Ask for $50. Ask for $27 if you’re Bernie because it became a talking point. But don’t ask for a dollar. I know homeless people who ask for more than that and they actually need the money.

You aren’t thinking like a campaign. That dollar donation also gives the campaign, and the Democratic Party going forward, valuable information for the GOTV database. Hypothetically that helps them win elections up and down ticket well into the future. Also, the person who donates one dollar is more likely to donate more later.
