If you are having second thoughts because of this odious action, it would be far, far better for everyone if you opted out for honest reasons by letting them know how you feel about this.

I am still conflicted about this, if I opt out of this presentation they will probably get somebody else who is less well-versed in this specialized topic than I am, but who has the Medved/Klinghoffer/Stein “creationist” cred. I try to avoid confrontation and controversy and if I do decide to opt out I will give a lame excuse. I’m still considering the pros and cons.
