Sorry, I had to log off for a bit, but wanted to respond.

The way it went, O’Reilly asked him what he thought of people who hated him. Firstly, he was telling Obama he hated him. He put emphasis on the word because there are many ways to phrase such a question IF the question should be asked at all, which it shouldn’t. What president in this country was never hated by anyone from Washington on?

At any rate, Obama let it go (as he was doing to a lot of what O’Reilly said) and tried to get to the meat of the question by saying that people who dislike him don’t know him and how can you hate someone you don’t know. He was trying to express the idea that it’s his policies they don’t like, not him personally because they don’t know him. Which is another reason the question is just stupid.

Obama tried to be the bigger person, but O’Reilly really meant to drive that word home. Why? His mama didn’t raise him right.

O’Reilly forgot that the Super Bowl audience was not his usual FNC audience. This was half the country watching, not a few million 65 year olds with No Spin Zone door mats. The President came across as intelligent, reasonable and likeable. O’Reilly came off as a jerk to tens of millions of people who had never heard of him before or watched his show.
