Taking me second shot at a beef soup. Mirepoix saute then 3 cans beef stock base. Then wine/butter sauteed 1 package mushrooms. Scoop most of the mirepoix out and replace with mushrooms. Add 2 cups water. Cook the 2 packages marinated stew beef cubes in the mushroom pan then put those in. Then saute some cubed potato in the beef pan. then those go in. All in to simmer for a few hours. Started at 10:00 am just now put it to simmer. Stock pot is full now.

Hmm, I just took a big hunk of top round roast out of the freezer and was pondering what to do with it. I’m out of mushrooms and the wine is a no-no, but beef stew sounds good.
