excellent points, especially about how we’ve lulled ourselves into believing that the company should by default be the insurance provider.

I firmly believe that we’d spend far less on health care if we had focused on expanding HSA’s, catastrophic insurance coverage, and portability. Give people the means and the motivation to be more concerned about their health care spending and they’ll do a better job reining in their costs.
