I got an “E 74” error. From what I’ve gathered on the net, it could either be the AVS chip that’s a problem, which it doesn’t seem to be, or the x-clamps flexing the motherboard and causing the solder joints to disconnect when the system heats up enough to soften the solder.

I’m going with the x-clamp fix for now. If that doesn’t work, I’ll consult my neighbor’s son. He knows some dudes who refurb consoles.
