It’s a challenging problem and a troubling one.

As I noted, I’m quite cynical by now. For all their education, I wonder how much the Democratic machinery that is run out of DC or NYC can adapt to the majority of America.

In one sense, as the Democratic party has turned into a more progressive party (i.e., back to the FDR-HHH axis and away from the compromise strategy of WJC) it is embracing a minority view in the American landscape.

How do we deal with the fact that the views of the majority of the voters don’t square with the majority of the landowners, and that the majority of the landowners are not progressive? Clinton won the popular vote.
