Anonymity is one of the worst aspects of the internet. It works like the masks in the old KKK hoods, inciting more extremism by allowing the masked to act with impunity.

The extremists will always be extreme. Note Twitter will not kick David Duke off its platform, and he’s never hidden his identity there - he’s loud and proud about his racism.

Before the Internet, plenty of people spread all manners of hatred under their real names. (Though I suppose you could call Klan robes the earlier version of Internet anonymity.)
