Rats are pretty interesting, actually. I find their smell offensive, but they’re sort of cool pets. Much easier to transport than dogs, and take less space. I would venture dogs are easier to train for the task, but I’m not a rat trainer. And judging by my terrier, I’m not much of a dog trainer, either.

I don’t mind the smell, at least if they’re kept in nice terrariums full of cedar chips.
