I don’t think major American businesses have been investing in America’s future for a long time. I’m thinking of Apple, Nike, and big oil in particular.

Well, Apple comes up with all the ideas here (note the created in California label on every Apple product), but an iPhone would cost at least $1200 if they were manufactured here; Steve Jobs said as much when he and other tech types met with Obama back in 2009-10. That meeting is in the Jobs book, by the way.
