As a reminder, Trent Lott was forced out as Senate majority leader after an uproar from the public about his racist remarks.

The person who engineered that? Mitch McConnell.

It would be glorious if he was ousted the same way over his shutdown.

Inasmuch as losing this would devastate his political standing, I don’t see Mitch ever being forced out. He may quit and/or retire after 2020, knowing 1) the writing’s obviously on the wall, and 2) Gov. Bevin would replace him with someone equally awful.
