re: #285 Osama Bin Asshat

But war is about killing people. Is there a threshold number that the IDF needs to achieve, in terms of killing, and then back off? How do you differentiate Hamas from the average Palestinian? Remember, were talking about collectively the most dysfunctional peoples on Earth, with an average age of 17 that are completely indoctrinated against Israel.

Yeah, there’s my dilemma - we ALL KNOW the folly of trying to fight a LIMITED war - it always fails. The only historical examples of successful wars being fought that I can think of is when the enemy was killed in enough numbers and their stuff blown up in sufficient quantity as to extract their unconditional surrender. The victors DICTATE the terms under which they may continue to exist.

If Israel is to ever successfully defend itself for the long haul, how else could they conduct a war, other than to inflict sufficient damage on their enemies as to force their unconditional surrender? If I can’t advocate for that here, then what’s the alternative, other than advocating for more of the same half-assed tit-for-tat warfare, ad infinitum?
