The creepiest scifi story I ever read was about how aliens came to kidnap this high government guy and question him. Short story shorter-He thought they wanted his military secrets about nuclear arsenals. That’s when they fell over laughing. They showed him their weapons-whole stars as beam weapons, planets thrown from orbit or turned to dust by even their smaller ships.

What they wanted to learn from us about our nuclear weapons was how we managed to not use them on each other. They had a war they needed out of, and we might know how.
