What do you base that on?

Books and articles I’ve read, my own observations of humanity, and my continuing self-analysis.

An example: You’re walking at night and right before you pass an ally you see a shadow move in it. What that shadow is you don’t know, but you’ll still likely cross the street if possible to put distance between you and it. You’ll do so because even though its probably nothing, if you act as if it is nothing and it turns out to be a threat you’re in trouble.
