while we struggle as a world to get this addressed, I fear the only thing that may save us is a catastrophic volcanic eruption to dump enough crap into the air to bring the temps down.

Volcanic sulfur and ash precipitate out quickly. After a couple of years they are gone.

What we are doing will stay in the atmosphere for millennia.

The current global YoY increase in CO2 is the highest on record, even with all the hoopla over cutting emissions.
