I’m currently reading a book called “John Dies at the End”, by ‘David Wong’. Don Coscarelli, the guy responsible for the PHANTASM movies, and for BUBBA HO-TEP, described it as a mash-up between Stephen King and Douglas Adams. I’d say that’s pretty astute. I’d throw in a tiny pinch of P.K. Dick and a vague whiff of H.P. Lovecraft.

If you’re into black humor (note for the naive: “black humor” doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with Will Smith) and / or horror, you might be pleasantly surprised by “John Dies at the End.
