Robert Spencer Visits Swedish Nazis

Marjoriemoon,

I do understand (maybe precisely because I am so old). In the early 1960s, you could have said that same thing about the Democrats - and been right. Even Robert Byrd began to see the light by the late 1960s (well maybe by the 1970s). But it took broadening the base of the party from the inside as well as battles in which some people had to give their lives.

I supported Charles’ statement:

LGF is as anti-jihad as anyone on the web; but I do not accept that we’ve reached the point where we should embrace these kinds of people as allies, simply because they’re hitching a ride on the bandwagon and saying the right things when the spotlight is on them.

However, that was 2007. It appears that things may be changing and the party may be broadening itself. I certainly agree its too early to tell and caution is warranted. But the title “Robert Spencer visits Swedish Nazis.” is, at least to me, a bit over the top. JFK visited U.S. Klu Klux Klaners (and make no mistake; in 1960, many Democrats, from Florida to and through Maryland were) and converted them. Spencer is not Kennedy, for sure. But support for moderate elements (in a society that does not tolerate any dissent from multiculturalism) is not the same thing as “visiting Nazis.”
