Chisea is a longtime friend - going back 20 years or more. They were at a law firm together, and he became AG when Christie nominated the then-AG to the State Supreme Court.

Since then, Chisea’s been lauded for his efforts at going after corrupt officials, has done a bunch of gun buybacks, and seen as a pretty effective AG.

Christie has just un-picked himself as a viable GOP candidate, or rather he did that during Hurricane Sandy. Or even earlier when he told critics to shut the f*ck up about a Muslim he had appointed as a judge.
