Yunno, I have come to realize that a lot of those folks in the Bible Belt are so adamant about their religion and about forcing it on everyone about them because they are so naturally pious and God-fearing.

Those descendants of the Presbyterian Scots-Irish immigrants are like that because below the surface they are the biggest whoremongers, gamblers, drinkers, fighters and general troublemakers in the world and they feel that they need a very strict moral corset in order to keep themselves and their families in line.
