True, but sadly she does have the ratings to show for it. O’Reilly and Hannity normally double her ratings or even more. She can’t truly become a force as long as her network keeps eating Fox’s dust.

It’ll never happen, because the right is more monolithic and goes to fewer places for its information. There is not the market on the left for a show that will pull the kind of influence that a Hannity or an O’Reilly or a Limbaugh. It’ll never happen, because the demographic isn’t there. You can’t get young people to watch cable news. o’Reilly has the nunbers, because his demographic is what media people call the “65 to dead” demographic. Monolithic and devoted, and used to getting their information from television.

The REAL question is: how valuable is the demo? I can about guarantee that Maddow’s watchers, which skew far far younger, on average have more disposable income
