re: #389 Catttt

I’m pretty sure I’d like this guy - have to read more about him.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to call my cell phone from my work phone to find my cell phone.

You’d love this article!

He also can’t remember his wife’s birthday after 22 years of marriage. He knows it’s in August, because his is, too.

During the interview on this subject, their kid pipes up and asks does he know his birthday.

R. looks at him helplessly, then says, “It doesn’t mean I don’t love you.”

He’s the original absent-minded professor. Oliver Sacks is one of his best buddies. And you should hear some of his theorizing on the origins of metaphor.

Apparently creativity comes in part from analogizing things that aren’t related at all. He’s working on synesthetics - people who “hear” colors or “see” sounds - as a model for how it works.

In other words, the misfires in our brains may be largely responsible for any new stuff that emerges.

If you can’t find the article get back to me and I’ll mail you a copy.
