Due to my strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility, I chose to be born without serious health problems ; to parents who did not indulge in drugs or criminal activity, and who were not in dire ill health themselves; in a country with a robust economy, a functioning government, and far away from war; during a time when death from malnutrition or communicable disease was the exception rather than the rule.
