I keep nothing of any value in the car —dog crate, dog travel stuff —bottle of water, poop bags, plastic drinking bowl, cheap extra leash.

If anyone wants to steal my various charging cords, they are welcome. They can also have the owner’s manual.

I don’t even carry cash in my purse. I lock my door when the window is down. I look under my car as I approach it with my keys threaded thru my fingers. I look in the back seat before I get in.

I lock the car doors as soon as I get in the car. I do not wait for the automatic locks to engage.

Behaviors I cannot rid myself of.

I live in Detroit and that’s over the top. OK not in Detroit Detroit but still…
