The obvious facts (for some values of “obvious”) they choose to ignore

1. 30% or more of black voters lean conservative on foreign policy, national security, small business regulations, education, the churchy stuff, any number of issues; and
2. Most of those voters vote Democrat anyway; mostly because Civil Rights (voting rights) is their top shelf issue that outweighs everything else.

The Democrats don’t have to do or say much of anything to attract black voters, because Republicans work so hard to repel said voters.

Dems have to work very hard to defeat despair, apathy, and disenfranchisement in the AA electorate. There is no demographic slice of the left coalition that can be neglected or dispensed-with.
