Right, but it doesn’t show up unless you check automatic downloads (music.)

If you would like to stop purchases from automatically downloaded to your library, open the iTunes preferences, click on the Store tab, and uncheck the automatic downloads box.

Again, the problem is that this option is supposed to automatically download content you’ve purchased on other devices. Nobody chose to purchase the U2 album, so the automatic download preference option shouldn’t have applied to it.
