That would be a misdemeanor, or highly atypical. Aberrational. When I say violent felon I’m thinking rapist, murderer, assault with intent, assault with a deadly weapon etc. Not marginal or unjust exceptions to what one might normally anticipate.

OK, what about the woman who hit me with her car? She was found guilty of felony reckless driving. There was violence, but without intent (‘disregard’ for the safety of others). She is appealing her conviction, but if she loses that, she doesn’t vote.

Do you want to create the need to distinguish among felons to determine who deserves the vote and who no longer does?

We can distinguish among felons for all kinds of things already, one more is fine with me. If she had killed you I would be fine with her never ever voting again. Given that you lived, I my feelings are mixed.
