Could it be that the NRA inflated their active and participating membership numbers to curry favor and better deals? NO WAY!!

The suspicion for ages now is that the NRA counts a lot of those who allowed their “free” membership to lapse or have since left in order to inflate their membership rolls. That if they ever cleaned those two groups out, we’d find that there’s really little more than a skeleton left. It’s bones composed primarily of the far-right crazies who think they’re gonna be the guerilla fighters against a coming fascist takeover.
