I like Laura Ingraham’s admonishment to the Dixie Chicks re political grandstanding:
Shut Up and Sing.
Goes for every corner of the political spectrum.
Act. Sing. Do your sports thing.
No one wants your opinion on international diplomatic relations, climate concerns, or whether or not you think Fur-Free is Fabulous.

Except for that, uh, people do want celebs’ opinions. Viz. Bono writing op-eds for the NYT. At least he can right and has a brain, whatever you think of the use he puts it to. Ditto, on a smaller scale, the musings of any B-level actor in a given tabloid.

And anything said by Laura Ingraham gets about as much credit with me these days as Ann Coutler’s thoughts on Judaism.
