Why is that picture so popular with the wingnuts? On the left we have a youthful, vigorous, intelligent (he’s wearing a helmet) man and on the right there’s the old guy with his shirt off. He’s firmly controlling a horse with all the vigor and fight of your average trail-ride operation in some park. He could lay those reins down on the horse’s neck and snooze and get the same ride.
