You’re so right… because if we outlaw guns at public rallies, then someone who is intent on using a gun to do massive damage to human life… and who is crazy enough to pull it off… won’t be able to do it.

If we outlaw guns at public rallies, then somebody spotted with a gun can be asked to leave, forcibly removed if he refuses. Somebody bringing a gun to cause trouble won’t be so difficult to tell apart from hundreds of people carrying guns for no particular reason.

Seatbelts and airbags don’t prevent there ever being any car wreck fatalities, but it sure reduces the numbers.
