Yeah, they were throw-away cars. But if you could keep them fairly rust free (tough in Ohio…probably worse up your way) you could easily get them to 150,000 miles. The diesels were good for 250,000 easy. Probably some still running in warm dry climes.

There’s plenty; I used to hang out on a Rabbit forum. This one was a Minnesota car with at least 140,000 miles (it was a diesel) and it was the frame that gave out. The guys down south trick theirs out with turbos and tweaked fuel systems and go race Mini Coopers.
