Trump had a “press conference” where the press was seated 20 feet away, he bellowed his standard stump speech at them, and didn’t take any questions—but that was all hunky-dunky.

Was that the one where he had all his (failed) Trump products lined up on stage? Or another one? That one was a masterful exhibit of the press as lemmings (too bad there was no cliff present)
