Sounds like the Post may be on to something, although I have questions about this line of reporting. Harlem United Community AIDS has housing at various places around Harlem. A list of transitional and other housing is here. If the Post connected the known addresses to where Harlem United operates housing, then the likelihood that the accuser was someone with HIV/AIDS is quite likely under the organization’s rules for obtaining their housing.

The organization refused to answer any general questions as per HIPAA rules, but the Post’s connection raises the ethical and legal questions since they’ve suggested that she has the disease based on her prior housing status. Knowing that her name is likely to be released at some point, this opens a whole can of worms and shows a gap in HIPAA protection.

Well, if she is living with HIV/AIDS, I’m very sorry, but if Strauss-Kahn is guilty, perhaps that news will give him a few sleepless nights.
