Because Colonial Marines are ground-pounders, even though their means of conveyance is a starship. Just like modern-day Marines don’t go around wearing steel gray or navy blue uniforms even though their means of arriving at their destinations are ships and aircraft.

Again….they are wearing camouflage BDUs….in space.
