Yeah that is true. There was a lot of prejudice behind the isolationism of those days.

Prejudice played a part, sometimes openly, other times covertly. Ol’ Joe P. Kennedy himself was heard to remark that he had no problem with what the Nazis were doing with their Jews, just that they were “too loud” about doing it.
