I’ve been an activist for some time now, on a side that takes plenty of abuse from the rest of the Bay Area. The police here have, for the most part, treated us with respect and dignity, and such is true with the rabid opposition (read: Free, free Palestine, from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free [insert, kill the Jews, etc]).

So it especially bothers me when I watch videos of police behaving poorly towards nonviolent demonstrators.
