We may end up finding the Egyptian people to have been unworthy of our support. “The people” are not always good or right after all; It’s entirely possible for them to be badly wrong or mindlessly belligerent. I don’t think the former applies to most people in Egypt, but I think the latter does apply in regards to Israel.

This is an incredibly dickish sentiment. Also, I don’t think you genuinely give a rat’s ass about Israel, it just makes a convenient MacGuffin for criticism of the political opposition. It’s all tribal bullshit with no genuine foundation at all.
