re: #311 Desert Dog

I would not be surprised to see euthanasia being pushed if we get the socialized medical insurance the left all wants. It’s happening in part of Europe.

I am not one to support suicide, especially if it’s institutionalized by the friggin’ government. Hard to say how I would react if I knew I was going to die a horrible death with some disease though. I would think I would fight until my last breath, but you never know until you get there.

One of the reasons I was happy about Tom not heading the Universal healthcare fiasco is that he very plainly believes that some don’t get treatment in order that others do. As a philosophy, I find this wrong. Everything for these people are a zero sum game….someone wins, someone looses. I think there is a way so every one wins.

My husband had a mild stroke two years ago. We didn’t have health insurance. The bill for two days in one hospital was over $16,000. The cost to Medicare was a bit less then $10,000. In other words, if you don’t have insurance because you can’t afford it, you get to pay more?

If all this crap about entitlement to health care was changed into its “your responsibility” then cost of health care would be more competitive. But placing an artificial ceiling on it all, prices are pushed upwards for the average individual. Universal will just push up the price of average care and better then average care will be impossible except to the very rich.

We paid our bills, and we had to cut back on a lot of other things. But that is our responsibility to the country…to pay for what we use.
