Before my time but I do recall visiting the UWS during ‘gentrification’ wars.

when i was a kid in the 60s it belonged to us cuz nobody respectable wanted to live there unless they were studying or teaching at julliard, columbia, etc, etc

now the yuppies (i want to call them “juppies” the way it would sound puerto rican style) look at me like i was an intruder
