He does this every time one of the subjects of his innuendo-laden, fact-challenged reports fails: Brian Williams, Menendez in NJ, Kevin McCarthy, and now Renee Ellmers. The fact that there be other mitigating factors completely eludes him.

But usually he claims credit for something that was actually reported as an event (even if, as in the case of Menendez, the actual reporting is totally different from whatever tree he’s been barking up.)
