Just so. Alinsky was indeed quite far to the left and he was comfortable being called a ‘radical’, but he was primarily concerned with getting things done, not striking poses. He got his pride from achievement, instead of looking for attention to boost his ego. But that last trait is called “maturity” and it is a trait grown rarer nowadays, as witness Paris Hilton (to bring the discuss full circle).
