Sadly that’s exactly what terror groups such as Hamas feed off of. An actual peace or calm would simply not be in the leadership’s interests, as it would both go against everything they’ve always stated as part of their ultimate goals and “worse” from their perspective, it would present the populace more of an opportunity to deal with internal issues they definitely don’t want examined (such as the massive corruption taking place and more)…
