FFS stop saying that we want to get rid of the 2nd amendment. We’re talking about reasonable things like yeah seeing if he has a criminal ercord which your asshole friends at teh NRA oppose.

Personally I would prefer we didn’t have the 2nd Amendment, but as the probability of getting a new Amendment that strikes the 2nd is exactly on 0, we simply live with what we have.

Trump, again, is more a symptom than a cause.

Our society is filled with, from all stripes and backgrounds, people who are afraid of change, afraid of giving up the past.

The rabidity of the hate-right commenters on all those Twitter and Facebook threads are testimony to how disconnected they have become, because accepting the idea that some things have to fundamentally change in American governance and society really, really scares them.
