I’ve been on 3 different turboprops: Beechcraft 1900, Shorts 360 (aka the Flying Velveeta Cheesebox,), and ATR-42. They’re all noisy. But after the American Eagle 4164 crash back in the 1990s, all of the turboprops were quickly retired/rehomed to warmer climates once the 40-50 seat regional jets came online.
