My maternal and paternal grandparents were either the first of their line to be born here, or were brought here as very young, immigrant children.

They missed having anything to do with Native American massacres, African slavery in America, the Revolution, and mostly being German or Italian, skated out of Europe prior the rise of genocidal fascism of the 30’s and 40’s.

I think my most recent ancestors had a knack for managing a “What? No. Fuck that shit. We want nothing to do with it”.
