While we are on the subject, one of my peeves with the yokel population is their habit of referring to Mexico as “Old Mexico.” One time one of them even asked me if I meant “new or old?” when I mentioned Mexico. I am tired of telling them, look, folks, there is no such place as “Old” Mexico, there is “Mexico” and “New Mexico.” That’s it. Some day we might name a Mars colony “Brand New Mexico,” but there will still be no “Old” Mexico.

We have t-shirts that say: NEW MEXICO: It’s not new, and it’s not Mexico.
