I had a customer who visited regularly from NYC who always bought 4 bottles of the same wine. I asked him one day why, and he told me he couldn’t get that wine in NYC. I was stunned- I thought anything was available in NYC. But I later came to learn about the crazy import laws- made it impossible for the wholesalers, distributors and retailers. So- he bought his favorite wine in another state. Crazy.
