That’s where you get a bench for higher offices, and Democrats sorely need to replenish their bench.

The Senate was always the longshot, as this was the worst class to defend in generations.

We also saw how gerrymandering and voter suppression efforts continue to give GOP advantage they neither deserve nor earned. It’s all about retaining power for the elites, using bigotry and racism to stoke fears among their base - and Trump’s best at that.
